Please patronize the donors to the Huntsville auction. Without their generosity the auction would not be possible. All proceeds from the auction go to the town park. Specifically, this year we are adding an adjustable basketball standard, extended safety fencing around the children’s playground, and security lighting. Bring your money and throw all caution to the wind; bid like a millionaire! Doug from Doug’s Trading Post on 506 Washington Blvd. has donated his time again this year. He holds fabulous auctions each month. Call 801-841-4648 for auction schedules. The Trading Post is open Noon – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Stop on by! COME 30 MINUTES EARLY TO PREVIEW ITEMS AND TO REGISTER FOR THE AUCTION. Ten Reasons Why You Should Celebrate the 4th of July in Huntsville 1. Home Town Parade. Huntsville’s parade is about family, fun, and tradition. How do you describe the bicycle brigade with children smiling from ear to ear? What about the old time army soldiers blasting off their cannon every block of the parade? This year a 1998 Ford Taurus will be a reminder of the bargains you can pick up in the auction. 2. Breakfast in the Park. This breakfast has been put on by Kent Wangsgard and his crew for the last 20 years. Hot cakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, etc. are the going fare. “The General” will only allow the very finest ingredients for this gourmet feast. It’s a great meal! 3. The Patriotic Program. Whether you are a Democrat or a Republican or some other type of political creature, you are going to love hearing from Senator Bob Bennett. He loves Huntsville and looks forward to visiting our town. 4. The Auction. Going once, going twice . . . sold! A bargain for the lady in in the polka-dot dress. What do you want? This auction has everything from a round-trip airline ticket to a romantic dinner and gondola ride to the top of Snowbasin to front row tickets to the Jazz for four. Buy a car, buy a goat, but buy something; all proceeds go to improvements for the park. 5. Games. Food. Crafts. Wander through the park and enjoy the wide variety of games and booths. Have a snow cone. Ride down a 30 foot slide. How about an inflatable obstacle course? Shoot paint ball guns. Survey beautiful work by dozens of craftsmen and artists. 6. Lunch in the Park. Juicy hamburgers and fat hot dogs dominate the lunch menu. It is delicious and a great way to feed a hungry family. Throw in chips and a drink and you have a happy meal for happy kids! 7. Entertainment. Ogden Valley has a wealth of wonderful entertainers. From 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., listen to talented singers and even a cowboy poet. After that, enjoy entertainment by one of the coolest bands around—Shades of Grey. And then, there is the melodrama! Boo, hiss, and laugh at some of Huntsville’s greatest thespians. You know . . . good, wholesome hero and villain type stuff. 8. Dance ‘Till You Drop. The Beat of Time is back again. This DJ has it all together and the giant speakers to move the music all over the park. Bring your dancing shoes and let yourself go! 9. The Big Bang Theory. Build a fireworks show that is bigger than last year’s and they will come! Last year was the biggest ever. This year is even bigger. Lay out a blanket and buckle your seatbelt for one of the neatest fireworks show ever. Listen to the patriotic music as the bombs are bursting in air. 10. The Most Important Reason. Come join others who believe this country is the greatest in the world. Come join others like yourself who celebrate freedom and remember those who paid the highest price possible to ensure are ability to enjoy are liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Thanks to Zions Bank who again this year is sponsoring and helping to finance many of the 4th of July activities. Huntsville appreciates their support and their commitment to the community. Special thanks to the many donors of food for the breakfast and lunch. And thanks to the generous donors of items and services to the auction. It is a community effort with everyone doing their part.
