Show LOCAL MAN IS PROMOTED TO ARMY CAPTAIN Henry Gardner "Bud" Talmage, son of Mrs. Hettie Talmage of this city, has been made a captain in the U. S. army and is stationed with the treasury department at Panama. He recently returned to Panama following a ten-day furlough fur-lough spent with his mother and other relatives and friends here. A graduate of the local High school, Capt, Talmage left Springville Spring-ville in about 1937, immediately after graduating from high school, to enroll in George Washington University at Washington, D. C, and was employed in the Treasury department of the U. S. government. govern-ment. He took military training at the university and when called to active service in December, 1941, was made a lieutenant. He has been stationed at Panama for more than a year, and his recent visit home was the first during that time. He was made a captain cap-tain in April of this year. |
