Show WAAC RECRUIT UNIT STOPS IN THIS CITY "Women from Springville are needed and needed urgently in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps." That was the keynote of a visit to Springville Monday of members of the Women's Army Auxilary Corps, traveling in a large mobile recruting unit. "The President has authorized expansion of the WAAC and the Army has requested 90,000 more WAACs immediately. To meet these demands, more women are needed from Springville," declared Lt. Marjorie Lyon, commanding officer of the mobile unit. Assisting Lt. Lyon on the unit were Auxiliaries Charlotte Temple Tem-ple and Alice Howery, with Sgt. William Mason as driver. The unit, which is making a tour of Utah and Nevada, is equipped with an interviewing lounge, typewriters, public address system, radio, and motion picture equipment, making it a complete "recruiting station on wheels." Many Springville women were interviewed by the WAACs during the unit's brief stop in Springville. Spring-ville.
