Show THE GREEN SHEET Sixtieth Anniversary For The Vern Turpins In celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary, Vern and Verda Rupp Turpin were honored on Saturday, July 18th at a family reunion at the Magna Park. The family of Florence and Lewis Leonard Galli are planning a double celebration tomorrow, July 24th, to mark their 80th birthdays which are but 19 days apart. 1V The honored pair will meet with their family at the Don Blairs cabin in Midway, Utah. Lewis Leonard was born on August 5th, 1907, in Midway, Utah, the son of Anna and Peter Galli, while Florence was born on Pioneer Day, July 24th, the daughter of Bertha and Phillip Edwards of Charleston, Utah. They were married on Sept. 29th, 1925 in Salt Lake City and became the parents of Donna (Mrs. Don) Blair, Murray; Jay Galli (Mary O) of Salt Lake; Ann (Mrs. Pete) Drury of California; Karen (Mrs. Frank) Noll, of Sandy and Diann, twin sister of Ann, who died as a year old baby. They have 14 grandchildren (one of whom is deceased) and 23 greatgrandchildren. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they are celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. The Gallis were both born and raised in the rural towns of Midway and Charleston of Wasatch County. Clifton M. Densley Notes 80th Birthday k The family of Clifton M. Densely is honoring him with an open house for his 80th birthday. The occasion will be held at his home, 13570 South 1700 West, Riverton, on Sunday, July 26th between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. 15. 1965. After their marriage they made their home in the now defunct Kennecott town of Garfield, I'tah for 19 years. They have made their home in Magna for the past 41 years. They are the parents of three children: Afton (Mrs. Sherman Drain, West Valley City; Shirley (Mrs. Calvin) Coon and Glen (Lucille) Turpin of Magna. They have 13 grandchildren, 35 and six great- i has made rocking horses, doll cradles, cupboards, etc. to delight the hearts of grandchildren and has always Grandpa Turpin been the fix-i- t man whenever childrens bikes or other toys needed fixing or painting. Verda worked for the Packaging Corporation of America for 22 years and retired in 1970. Her hobbies include growing flowers and maintaining a beautiful yard which she takes special pride in. She is an excellent cook and is always inviting the kids over for dinners or picnics. The family says. Grandma Turpin's delicious cookies and special desserts are always a delight for her children, grandchildren, and now n 23, 1987 Florence, Lewis Galli Note Shared Birthdays Vern worked for Kennecott Copper for 43 years and retired in 1970. His hobbies include making articles and toys of wood. Over the years he Vern was born in Granger to Isaac Herbert and Lucy Mae Drage Turpin while Verda was born in Taylorsville to George Albert and Hannah Josephine Ekstedt Rupp. The couple was married July 14, 1927 in Salt Lake City and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January Thursday, July was in the construc-tionweldin- g business until the age of 70 and was the entire familys fix-i- t man as long as he was able to be so. Broken bicycles, scooters and every other kind of toy found their way to his work bench. The two are active LDS members and Lewis has been in the bishopric, a high priest and Temple worker. Florence has been active in the relief society on the stake level as work leader for many years. Flroence has always been a good cook and when Gary, their first grandchild, w'as a child, he was asked by his Gram what he would like for his brithday, and he answered, Oh, a pan of your hot rolls would be He served an LDS mission to the Western States and has been active in both ward and stake positions ih the church. v ton, Claudia (Mrs. Howard) Wagstaff, Lehi and Larry (Sue) Densley of Las Vegas. They have 15 grandchildren and one of eight whom is deceased. Vf. , Leonard Clifton was born July 25, 1907 in Riverton to Moses and Emily Huffman Densley, He married Lola Hamilton op January 17, 1930 in Riverton and their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS temple. He worked for 35 years at the Salt Lake branch of Ford Motor Com-pany and is presently enjoying gardening and working at the LDS Temple. Clifton and Lola became the parents of four children: Nelda (Mrs. Dale) Christenson, Kaysville; Merla (Mrs. Wayne) Nokes, River- f great." Henry Sipple Celebrates On Eightieth Birthday The family of Charles "Henry Sipple, Taylorsville, is honoring their father on the occasion of his 80th birthday. Missionaries And so, now, every member of her progeny as well as their spouses, gets two dozen of Grams hot rolls on their birthdays. She makes them a bit ahead of time and freezes them, but, as sure as family birthdays arrive, a pan of Grama Gallis hot rolls arrive also. Hunter, South Salt Lake and they are now making their home in Taylorsville. Henry worked for Kennecott Copper for 30 years, retiring in 1972. He keeps active by. fishing, golfing and bowling. He enjoys good health, has many friends and loves life. He is a high priest in the LDS church. He and his wife, Murel are the parents of four children; Melba Jean (Mrs. Albert) Pelusi, Ogden; C. Mont Dawes, Bennion, and Howard (Shirley) Dawes, West Valley. One child. Lorraine Sipple, is deceased. They have 17 grandchildren, 19 and two Their greatest blessing, the two say, is having their complete family, now numbering 44, home on LDS Conference days in both April and October for dinner. This tradition began 40 years ago upon the arrival of Gary, the first born of their third generation. On October 27, 1930 he married Murel Bridges Dawes in Salt Lake City. Her farewell meeting will be held in the Kearns 41st ward. 5100 So. 5600 West, at 1:00p.m. on July 26th. The future missionary is the daughter of Karen M. Lawrence of Kearns and the late David E. Lawrence. They formerly made their home in Big Piney, Wyoming. She is a graduate of Kearns high and has attended Brigham Young University in Provo and in Hawaii. Julie is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor N. Matthews of Salt Lake and Harold E. Lawrence of Salem, Utah. Scott Alan Moore Scott Alan Moore has been called to serve an LDS mission in Nashville, Tennessee and will enter the training center on August 5th. His farewell was held in the Jordan North First ward, 4634 W. 3700 South, on Sunday, July 19th at 9:00 a.m. The future issionary is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith L. Moore of West Valley City. Scott is an Eagle Scout and a 1986 graduate of Granger high. He has attended the University of Utah and is presently employed by McDonalds. Charles Christopher Lloyd Charles Christopher Lloyd has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission in Leeds, England and will enter the training center on August training center on in of serving 5th preparation August in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Lori is a graduate of Taylorsville missionary high and has recently graduated from Weber State College in Dental Hygiene. She is the granddaughter of Ira and Ruth Wells of Sugarhouse; Jasmine B.
