Show A DOUBLE WEDDING. On Friday afternoon last, Justice Cummings was falteringly approached by a young man who desired to have an hour appointed when he could take upon himself the easy yoke and delightful burden of matrimony. Five o'clock and the Justice's residence were the time and place named. Scarcely had these preliminaries been arranged when another young man, who looked as though he had done or was about to do an act that he was a little ashamed of but very happy about, asked the Justice to step aside a moment. The same hour and place were named. One couple was fifteen minutes ahead of time, and just at the conclusion of the ceremony which placed them at the end of their troubles (we don't pretend to say which end), the second couple arrived. A few minutes later and the happy quartette departed, bearing two documents in which the words "bonds of matrimony" looked wonderfully large and plainly written to them. One of the couples departed the same evening for their future home in Montana. The other couple are comparative strangers in Logan, but will reside here. |
