Show CHEEP SPORT.-A subscriber from Orono states that some young men in that vicinity gratified their base desires recently by feeding chickens with pieces of meat fastened together with cord; the actions of the poor fowls with their stomachs tied together, as it were, afforded great pleasure to the youths. The chickens might have said, like the frogs in the fable: this may be sport to you but it is death to us. We suggest that these boys be prosecuted for cruelty to animals, the penalty for which is usually very severe.-Statesman. |
