The raid was made Monday night at the home of 15. P. Carlisle, nt Alpine, by Sheriff F-oyd and deputies dep-uties Otto Eirk and B. F. Koper. When the offieers arrived at the Carlisle home near midniaiit they found n 75 gallon still in fail operation opera-tion in the attic rooms, whieh the sheriff declares were elaborately equipped with pipes and containers and other paraphernalia for the manufacture of large quantities of moonshine whiskey. Upon their arrival Carlisle was in bed and two men who gave their names as Jack Stephens and George Levaire were iu charge of operations. opera-tions. When aroused from his slumbers by the sheriff, Carlisle declared that he knew nothing of tne still and its operation despite the fact (hat it was iu his own home. All three men were placed under arrest and brought to the county jail, while-the town marshal was delegated to take charge of the plant throughout the night. Tuesday morning Sheriff Boyd nnd his deputies went to the scene of operations and confiscated the plant. They found sixteen n0-gallon barrels of mash, a large quantity of moonshine whiskey and fifteen 5-gallon kegs all ready to catch the "juice" as it oozed out of the great still. The equipment was confiscated con-fiscated and the mash and wet goods were destroyed.
