Show SPRINGVIllE PIONEER DIES SUDDENLY Oldest Resident of Springville . Succumbs to Heart Failure Tuesday SPRINVILE 8 Sail ford Fuuler, (W, the oldest man In Springville, died suddenly at his home in the Third ward Tuesday morning. Mr. Fuller had been in his usual good health and according to reiorts enjoyed four good meals the dii.v before his death. He arose from his bed about 7 o'clock Tuesday morning, dressed himself and walked out into the yard. When his wife came out to call him to breakfast she found him sitting in the yard dead. lie was born at Saratoga, N. Y., August 18, 1831. He with his parents par-ents and brothers and sisters were driven with the rest of the members of the L. D. S. church out of Nauvo, at the time of the expulsion in 1840. Both his parents died in Iowa leaving leav-ing 11 children. Mr. Fuller mine to TTtnh in 18-48 in Brighnm Young's company. He resided in Salt Ijike valley for four years and then came to Springville in 18r2, where he has lived until the time of his death, following the vocation of farming. He was a soldier In all the Indian wars In I.Hah, Sanpete and Sevier counties between the years of -1853 and 1860. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Mary A. Fuller, four sons and four daughters: Essex B., George M., and Mark W. Fuller all of Ogden. Thomas Fuller of Burley, Idaho. Mrs. Perry A. Thomas of Spanish Fork, Mrs. E. It. Hunt of Portland. Ore. ; Mrs. C. C. Childs of liexburg. Idaho and Mrs. S. W. Cranner of Las Vegas, Nev. - Funeral services were held in the Springville Third ward chapel Tburday afternoon. July 2, with Byard Johnson of the ward bishopric bish-opric in- charge. The. chapel was filled with the many friends and relatives. The floral offering was profuse. Members Mem-bers of the high priests quorum acted act-ed as pallbearers. The speakers were G. R. Maycock. president of the Kolob Btake. Patriarch Patri-arch O. B. Huntington, Bishop W. K. Johuosn' Jr., and Oscar - M-. Mower. Mr. nod Mrs. Guy Brown gave two vocal duets. Prof. L. W. Miller gave a violin solo and Mrs. Jessie Johnson Dnlton gave a vocal solo. Miss Louise Ooffman was piano accompanist. The invocation was by George L. Hyde and the benedlctio by Hyrum F. Thomas of Provo. The interment inter-ment was iiv the city cemetery under the direction of the Claudin Funeral Home." The grave was dedipated by Patriarch O. B. Huntington. |
