Show INDIAN WAR BATTLE IS OBSERVED In commemoration of the battle fought with the Indians In Diamond Fork, of Spanish Fork canyon, June 20, 1866, at which time John Ed-mundson Ed-mundson of Springville and Al Dim-miek Dim-miek of Spanish Fork were killed, the Sons and Daughters of the Indian In-dian War Veterans and Pioneers of Springville and Spanish Fork took their annual trip into Spanish Fork canyon last Friday, ,June 26, and spent the day in festival at Castella. Free transportation was provided for all Indian war veterans. Nearly three hundred people from Utah county' made the trip. Alma Fullmer, vice chairman of the state organization, was chairman chair-man of the day's activities and Lon Halton acted as chairman of sports. Picnic was enjoyed at 11 o'clock after which the following program was given : selections from the Mapleton male quartet,-vocal duet by Miss Ella Money and Miss Jones from Spanish Fork, selections from the Salem male quartet, reading by Mrs. Frank Salisbury, a narration of the incident when the men were killed by the Indians given by Don C. Johnson, who was in the battle, a reading by Mrs. Glen Dallin and a talk by John S. Boyer, captain of one of the companies during the Indian In-dian wars of 18G0 A horse-shoe pitching contest, baseball game and other games and contests for both men and women followed the program after which there was dancing in the pavillion with Murdock orchestra furnishing the music.
