Show GUARDING AGAINST CONTAGIOUS DISEASES. Acting under the Mayor's instructions Deputy Marshal Crookston, for about a week past, has been watching the trains passing through Logan, with a view to preventing parties afflicted with contagious diseases, small pox especially from alighting from trains and moving about at will in our city. Smallpox exists north and south of Logan and the most effective, and about the only possible precaution against its introduction here, is to watch the trains as is now being done. A few small pox patients have passed over the road since officer Crookston's surveillance began, but not one has us yet been known to stop over in Logan or Cache County. |
