Snow of the new Delta Land and Water Company, has been In Hurtner this week seeing about the improvements improve-ments that are under way for their Irrigation Ir-rigation system. Tho new company evidently intends to put everything In good shape and have the money to do It with. Owners of land on the west aide are beginning to arrive and large acreage will be planted this season. Mr. F. C. Callisler Is In town this week working on the telephone lines, llurtuer now has ten phones and the list la growing. Hurtner played basket ball last Friday Fri-day with Oak City, und we are sorry to say that we were beaten again. One explanation we wish to offer Is that our team has never had anyone to show tlu m how to play the game, and that Is a great disadvantage to the players. Mr. Charles Ashby and family were visiting relatives in Holden lust week. Mr. K. W. Cottrell. one of the O. L. & I. Co.'s engineers, came back to Hurtner last Monday morning to assist as-sist Mr. Strain In the work across the river. Mr. Frank Woods of Holden Is building build-ing a nice residence on Fast Clark street. Don't forget the Relief Society doings do-ings next Friday. Remember everybody every-body is Invited. |
