Show AN EXPANSION REAMER contributed for increasing the diameter of blast holes and for the introduction of explosives directly on the bottom and back of the projecting walls of the hole in ample quantities for doing the work which allows the use of sufficient tamping to prevent the hole from gun gunning hing and insures more effective work with less holes and explosive than is possible with the common practice of doing the work by the use of this tool the time and expense of firing burning or spring shots in rock work are eliminated the tool is applicable to any kind of mining tunnel or rock work where any kind of explosive is used and its advantage is apparent to the practical powder man these tools are made up very simple in two three and four cutters and any desired length for the various depth holes the reaming is done rapidly and with little labor either by hand or attached to the ordinary tripod drill commonly used in tunnel work the accompanying cut shows two and three cutter reamers with the cutters expanded the holes shown in the stone shohe were reamed from 1 to 4 inch the tools were designed and patented by E B cornelius and B G cope orrville ohio and is manufactured by the cyclone drilling machine company of the same place |
