Show ACTIVITY AT THE OLD ONTARIO record park city utah at the old ontario all is activity the good news that the hoist recently destroyed by fire would be rebuilt was received this week and a large force of men was at once put to work clearing away the debris and getting everything in readiness for the new structure upon examination it was found that the old engine was so badly damaged that even if it be repaired it would take too long and as manager rood states time is at present the chief consideration with the ontario company it is the intention to move the daly no 2 engine and gallows frame to the new ontario no 3 and a large force of workmen is now employed at the daly in taking this machinery apart the engine is practically new while the gallows frame is one of the most substantial in the camp the eight boilers bolders at the ontario was not so badly damaged but what they can be quite easily repaired and put in good shape again about twenty men are engaged in clearing away the wreckage of the fire f ire and have already made a good showing derricks are being used to handle dle the heavy pieces of machinery at the daily no 2 therease there ther eare are twenty five men busily engaged in taking the engine to pieces preparatory to moving it taking the gallows frame down and reeling the cable from the drums manager rood spent wednesday and thursday in camp and feels much elated over the companas company comp anys Ef prospects when asked regarding the time it would take to get the mine in running order again here he replied that lie he could not say but that all a ll 11 the men would be put to work that could be used to advantage and that work would be pushed ahead with all possible speed mr rood is as anxious it if not more so than anyone to see the hoist up and the machinery in motion and will do all in his power to rush things along the shaft is damaged comparatively none the first sets only being slightly damaged various opinions have been given as to the time it will take to get the hoist up and the mac machinery hindry installed but the general impression seems to be that it will be at least ninety days while a few think that forty five days will see the work done be that as it may the plant will be rebuilt and as quickly as possible louis bailey the efficient and practical mine and ml mil I contractor and builder who rebuilt the ontario mill w will ill have charge of the construction work |
