Show HILL TOP TIMES Page 2 April 27. 1971 career 3 ends today for secretary v. 7-ye-ar Logistics manager elected president, wildlife federation Sheldon Eppich of Ogden, deputy chief of the Resources Management Division, Directorate of Materiel Management, Ogden ALC, was elected president of the Utah Wildlife and Outdoor Recreation Federation at its annual convention Sunday. Looking back on her career, she recalls: "Two things made me appreciate my experience as a secretary. I worked for a good boss and I met some great people." "TODAY, secretarial work may not appear to be the glamorous occupation it was when I started out, but secretaries carry a lot of responsibility. "The self satisfaction that comes from knowing you have a hand in making things happen is very rewarding. You have to feel that your service is vital to the success of the organization. "For a secretary to do her best, she must respect the supervisor she works for, both as an employer and as a person. That's what it's all about," she said. He has been a civilian employee at Hill AFB since completing, in 1960, six years' active duty as an engineer with the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps. From 1960 until 1976, he held various '' vmmum , finance, Mr. Eppich represented the Hill Rod and Gun Club as a delegate to the convention. He is a past president of the Hill club and long has been an active member. He is a hunter and fisherman. ELYSE BUSHELL, secretary in the Data Automation Division, Comptroller, will cover her typewriter for the last time tonight at 4 career. p.m., ending a A native of Ogden, she graduated from Ogden High School in 1939 and worked during the summer for the U.S. Forestry Service. In the fall, she obtained employment on a government project as aide for the Ogden Qty Schools, also teaching third grade part time. ON JUNE 12, 1942, she started her federal career at the Ogden Arsenal in the 37mm shell loading area, East Plant. She says that because of the early winter hour she went to work in the dark, worked 10 hours and drove home in the dark. "It was weeks before I really saw where I worked," she laughed. In 1943, she accepted an "office job" and continued in the secretarial field at that installation until 1955 when ii closed and she left her position as secretary to the Commanding Officer. COMING TO HILL AFB on Aug. 22, 1955, she was accepted as clerical assistant to the District Commander, OSI, a position she held for six years.
