Show Vocal Entertainment. The concert con-cert given in the 15th Ward schoolroom, school-room, on Monday evening, was very well attended, and taken altogether was a very pleasing entertainment. . Much credit is due to Mr. Thomas C. Griggs for bis able management in the selection ef the programme, and mak ing the best use of the talent at his command. The choir appeared to good advantage throughout, and especially espe-cially so in the quartette and chorus "Contimintal Railroad," which was rendered very effectively. The song aud chorus "What Shall the Harvest be," by Miss Maggie Swau and choir, struck us as being the gem of the even- j ing. Mr. John Cha nberlaiu presided at the orgau, who both in Lis solos and aecouipanimenU, was most pleasing. Mr. Chamberlain only needs more confidence con-fidence to make him one ofourbect organists. |
