Show Gas. What business man does not wish for the most brilliant light he can obtain? Who in our community has not -wished time and again for gas? In fact, it has come to be viewed as one of the loading marks of advancing civilization. One great reason why-Salt why-Salt Lake City has not been yet supplied sup-plied with this disideratum is the lenirth of our streets an 1 the distance generally between buildings., making the cost of mains and pipos a serious consideration. We take pleasure in stating that Mr. II. W. Coker is in town, and is supplied with an invention, inven-tion, known as the "Howard lilden's gas machine," which from all we can learn of it, would obviate many of the difficulties to be contended with in business and other houses. Mr. Coker is stopping at the Townsend House for a day or two longer, and the working work-ing of the gas machine can be seen in the evening at the hotel. |
