Show CANTEEN AIDS BOYS 10 ARE HOED ORSICK . Tho -Canteen committee has been favored with several donations of fruit, candies and tobacco. Theso rcmom-brances rcmom-brances havo come in most handy as tokens of Ogden's favor to bo distributed dis-tributed to tho many soldier boys passing through. Recently a large number of youn soldiers were served In the city with Ice cream cones and fruit. Among the generous donors of gifts havo been tho Utah Cigar company com-pany giving two largo boxes Neala Fruit sandwiches, two gross chewing gum, 500 Obaks, -100 Premo's, 200 Richmond Straight Cuts: Mr. Wilson, generous gifts of fruit; Wright Whit-tier Whit-tier Fruit Co., boxes of fruit; Dr. Wherry, two boxes apricots. The gifts of fruit are of especial acceptability ac-ceptability just now and tho canteen workers aro prepared to go and get the fruit if it will bo donated on the ground. There has been quite a little work of real service accomplished also. Soldiers Sol-diers with wounds returning from the front have had their wounds dressed, and two who have boeii sick have been taken to the hospital for treatment over night. Much up-to-dato literature has been "given to the boys en route, letters mailed and telegrams sent. Tho canteen workers arc giving much time and energy to their work, but they aro most happy and encouraged encourag-ed in their work. No visiting is allowed by Ogden people in the canteen, but all who are at the depot arc Invited to Inspect tho work. oo |
