The outstanding features are as follows: Abolishment of the filing fee and property tax offsets. Start the rate of two per cent on the first $1000 income and step it up at the rate of one per cent per $1000 to six per cent on all incomes over .$5000. Existing exemptions $1000 . for . an unmarried person;' $2000 for married couples and $400 for each dependent would be abolished in their place Would be an exemption exemp-tion which, in effect, would be $300 per person.. The bitl was introduced by Representative Rep-resentative Will Hoyt and the senate sen-ate by Senator W. C. Holbrook. A bill, introduced in th"e upper house by Senator H. B. Maw, provides pro-vides for a $3 tax on each telephone tele-phone instrument in the state. Proceeds would go to the state I general fund. |
