The September meeting of t board of directors will be held Thursday evening, Sept. 19. President Arch will inform the board members by card as to the location of the meeting. Due to an error on the part of the publicity chairman, it v announced in last week's column that the September meeting of the Ladies auxiliary would be held on Sept. 24. I would like to correct that error at this time. The September meeting will be held on the fourth Thursday of September, the 26th; the place, Andy's restaurant, 4619 Holla-day Holla-day boulevard. All wives of the Holladay Lions that are interested in-terested in joining the auxiliary are invited to attend. Lion Ferrus Andrus has been appointed chairman of the safety committee replacing Lion Le-Grande Le-Grande Black. LeGrande has tendered ten-dered his resignation to the club due to illness in his home. We hope that a speedy recovery is made and that he will soon be back with us. George Ault is well on his way to recovery and will be back with us in the next few days. District Governor Lloyd M. Theurer has just released the Lions club goals for the 1946-47 1946-47 fiscal year and I would like to quote from his letter to the club presidents and secretaries: "At a recent meeting of the district governor's cabinet, goals for the year were adopted. Copies are herewith enclosed. I suggest that yott consider these at one of your first directors meetings and .consider them as a challenge from the other clubs. We feel that the attainment of these goals are wholly within the reach of every club in the district." In connection with the governor's gover-nor's announcement, may I add that Lionism in Utah and in the international organization is in for one of the biggest years that we have ever enjoyed. We as individual members should do our part to support our club, President Arch, Governor Theurer Theu-rer and the international organization organ-ization by carrying out the plans that they formulate for the building of a better world to live in. Did you read the article on page 13 of the September Lion? It is a fine tribute to the Lions that are true supporters sup-porters of Lionism. Our congratulations con-gratulations to these Lions, may we have more of them. Information has just reached us that Lion Joe Gunderson is at his home. (He has been in the hospital until last Monday night recovering from a hernia operation.) . It is regretable that we have such a hard time picking pick-ing up information like this until it is all over but to Lion Joe we say best wishes for a speedy |
