Show Trio of Veterans Team With Tot in Charming Centre Hit Tiny, talented Margaret O'Brien appears on the Centre screen in another captivating role as the heroine of "Three Wise Fools." This time she plays a little Irish tot with a firm be- j lief in pixies and the enchant- J ment they can bring into your life. How she manages to con- j vert three hard-bitten and cyn- j ical bachelors to her belief in the I leperchauns makes for a fresh I and constantly diverting com-! edy. Lionel Barrymore, Lewis Stone and Edward Arnold play the respective doctor, judge and banker whose bleak household is upset by the arrival from Ireland Ire-land of little Sheila O'Monahan, granddaughter of a girl whom all three once loved. While the idea of this pert little miss in their midst is at first pugnant to the smug trio, they are finally won around by the first bit of affection they have experienced in years. A scheme to deprive Sheila of her property, including an oak tree in which dwell .the little pixies of the superstitious girl's imagination, almost upsets the the apple cart of their placid existence, but the "three wise fools" are brought to see the light before the final fndoout and little Sheila is able to preside pre-side over a happy reunion. |
