Show Neiv Protest Seen On School Shift The entire problem cf transporting trans-porting small children of the I southeast section to and from less-crowded schools in the avenue ave-nue section of the city will be discussed at a mass meeting to be called soon, it appeared this week. Dr. Lynn Eennion, city school superintendent, indicated he would call a meeting of parents par-ents in the Highland Park school district as a result of a petition and protest being worked up by a committee of parents in that section under the chairmanship chairman-ship of Charles C. Quinn, 1668 Stratford Ave., who said that many parents feel older children rather than the younger ones should be transferred to the down-town schools, and that several sev-eral parents are keeping their youngsters out of school rather than have them make the daily bus trek. The board of education educa-tion has already planned construction con-struction of new and larger school facilities for this fast-growing fast-growing section, but due to material ma-terial shortages it will be some time before actual construction is started. The bus transfer plan worked out very well last year, according to school authorities. |
