Show Best State Fair in Years Slated to Open Monday horses competing for $3000 cash prizes, horse pulling contest, ra-dio ra-dio audience shows, and many more features in the entertainment entertain-ment field. We cannot begin to tell you all about it. Come to the state fair you will see one of Jhe most colorful and complete shows ever presented in Utah a pre-view of Utah's 1947 Centennial. : H V' 'if I ' - A .vs A ' -i' J With 14 county exhibits being placed at the Utah State Fair, 1946 fairgoers are assured one of the most elaborate fruit, vegetable, veg-etable, and grain exhibits that has been seen in the state in many years. At the last pre-war fair very few counties were showing in the annual exposition, exposi-tion, but this year the show will attract thousands, as all of the old timers are back and several of the counties at the fair are showing for the first time. County Coun-ty exhibits are under the direction direc-tion of Dr. D. Eldon Beck who has visited the counties and worked up this phase of the show. The counties participating participat-ing are: Carbon, Davis, Emery, Iron, Millard, Morgan, Piute, Salt Lake, Tooele, Uintah, Wasatch, Wa-satch, Washington, Weber and Utah.' It is impossible to use enough space to tell about ' all of the things to be seen at the fair, but note just a few of the highlights 400 entries in the rabbit show; 300 entries in a dog show; 54-piece 54-piece U. . S. Army recruiting band that will give daily concerts; con-certs; 27 flower and garden clubs participating in the flower show; all barns and ground facilities available for the first time in four years insuring a complete show in beef cattle, dairy cattle, cat-tle, swine, and sheep; industrial arts building filled to capacity with industrial and manufacturers manufactur-ers exhibits; the best mining anc mineral exhibition in years; 23 counties and 30 schools taking part in the junior department shows; hundreds of musicians competing in vocal, piano and ;nstrumental music; Utah's lr lies competing for the title "Miss Utah" and a trip to 'Atlantic City and a chance at the coveted "Miss America," hobby shows, Indian art exhibits, home-making displays by the thousands, etc., etc. The grandstand attraction "Golden Anniversary Revue," followed by spectacular fireworks fire-works will be one of the most colorful and elaborate shows ever brught to Utah. It is being presented by the Barnes-Car-ruthers Theatrical enterprises, j who have the name of presenting present-ing the greatest outdoor shows in America.
