Show more beet contract signers are needed county agent C R richards reports that farmers of the county are hesitating to aien aign beet contracts for production of sugar beets this year he states that indications are more favorable this year than for several years both as to moisture conditions and price at the present time sugar is hla higher gh er than it has been and indications are that beet growers will receive six dollars or more per ton for the beets produced in 1935 while the price if for or 1936 is uncertain mr richards states that these conditions would make it appear that sugar beets would be one of the good crops to produce in 1936 6 he suggests that those who are ac costumed to producing sugar simar beets would do well to continue the production of this crop in their crop rotation of beets peas grains alfalfa etc officials of the sugar company have indicated that unless more contracts signers are ara secured in the next few days they will withdraw for the year and produce no beets at all in the county they have not secured enough acreage to justify operating the beet dump at morgan |
