Show Lightning Strikes Sixteen Children. Sparta, Ga. While sixteen children who were attending a Sunday school picnic at Martin Springs, near here, were standing under a tree, to escape a shower, a bolt of lightning struck the tree and every child was rendered unconscious. AVhen aid came the children were lying in a heap at the foot of the tree, and all were apparently apparent-ly dead. There were two doctors in th e picnic party, and on examination they found that not one of the children chil-dren had been killed outright, though ix of them have since died. |
