Show Education Will Solve the Problem. Norfolk, Va. That the negro who is educated has no idea of social equality, was asserted here on Monday Mon-day by Booker T. Washington, before a large audience. He said those who are in touch with the race and its needs know that all that is needed to accomplish its salvation is education in its broadest meaning. "Education," "Educa-tion," said Washington, "increases the wants of the negro and in just such proportion it will work to attain his desires for good clothes, for a home and a bank account." |
