Show UTAH STATE NEWS The sixth annual bird show of ths Utah County Poultry association was held at Provo last week. There wera 400 fine birds entered. William Kimbeiiing, who confessed several weeks ago to stealing a horse from an Ogden doctor, has been sentenced sen-tenced to three years' Imprisonment. Edmund Webb, Kaysville's oldest resident and one of the very early Bottlers in Davis county, passed away at his home last week. He came to Kaysville in 1854. Joseph- Quinney has resigned from his position as city auditor of Logan, to which office he was elected at the last municipal election. Pie gives as his reason ill health. John Carver, a resident of Weber county for nearly sixty years, died at his home in Plain City Thursday. He Was nearly '90 years old at the time of his death, which was caused by old age. Charles H. Reagan, a former saloon sa-loon keeper, has disappeared from his home in Salt Lake. W. O. Van Bergen, Ber-gen, a friend of the family, is being held by the police pending an investigation. inves-tigation. Edward Newey, ten:year-old son of John Newey of Huntsville, virtually fchoked to death Wednesday night after a brief attack of croup and pneumonia which commenced during the evening. The city street department of Salt Lake spent $152,956.50 for the improvement im-provement of streets and the operation opera-tion of the department during 1911, according to the annual report of the lormer street supervisor. Preliminary plans for the expenditure expendi-ture of nearly $1,000,000 on road improvement im-provement work in the state during the year were discussed at a meeting between the state road commission and Governor Spry last week. When Louis Alpini, aged 80 years, an Italian, appeared at the door of his cabin at Ogden at 11 o'clock Wednesday Wed-nesday night, he was shot and killed instantly by Antone Cordamore, a young countryman,, with whom he had quarreled. The Lewiston sugar factory has closed its' run for this season. Seventy thousand tens of beets - were ground up during this run, for Which the company has paid out $320,000.
