Show CENTERFIELD. With the new administration of our municipality it is the intention to keep the town "dry," by enforcing the law against the sale of liquora. It is hoped also that the sale of tobacco on Sundays will be stopped altogether altogeth-er and a strict enforcement against its diBpositiou at any time to minors or their having it in possession. Within two days time last week three individuals have contributed in fines to the town treasury an aggregate of $350 for violation of the new liquor law. John Knudsen, county sheriff, wai down here last week and lent a hand in cleaning up these matters. He became acquainted with a few juvenile juve-nile delinquents, whom he will introduce intro-duce shortly to the probation officer of the county. John J. Larson is home again from Benjamin, having been employed there for some time. Noble Mace of the firm of Mace & Son, will be back here from Benjamin on Friday to effect a final settlement with Jens Beck, who will then resume charge and open up his former store here. The orchestra benefit dance Wednesday Wed-nesday night waa not a financial success A party is expectad to be given next Tuesday night, in the opera house, complimentary to those who have hauled wood for tha widows and for ward purpose, also to meet further expenses of fuel and lights used in ward capacity. |
