Show Oil shale advisory panel gains three new members Secretary of the Interior James Watt has recently appointed three public members to the Oil Shale Environmental Environmen-tal Advisory Panel (OSEAP) bringing the current membership to 26 according accor-ding to OSEAP Chairman Henry O. Ash in Denver. The new members are: Dr. Beatrice E. Willard, professor and head of the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering Ecology at the Colorado Col-orado School of Mines and former member of the President's Council on Environmental Quality ; Clarke R. Watson, Wat-son, board chairman of Westland Companies, Com-panies, Inc, in Denver and former panel member; and W. Robert Wright, prominent pro-minent Salt Lake City attorney and civic leader. Dr. Willard will represent environmental concerns; Mr. Watson, the energyindustry sector; and Mr. Wright, the public-at-large. The panel was established by former Secretary of the Interior Rogers Morton Mor-ton in 1974 to advise the Department on environmental aspects of oil shale development and to assist the Department Depart-ment in achieving the goals of the Prototype Pro-totype Oil Shale Program. It is composed compos-ed of representatives of Federal, State and County government agencies as well as public members. OSEAP has met 34 times since it was formed to review all significant activities involving involv-ing Federal oil shale resources and programs pro-grams during its 8-year history. |
