Show Jensen Vera Snow Phone 789-0628 Big Bird helps Bodde celebrate Bodde Sessions celebrated his third birthday Feb. 26 by sharing his Big Bird birthday cake and ice cream with family members. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Sessions and his sister, the following guests made the occasion special: great-grandma Blanche Wilkins, grandma Velda Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gates and Mandi, Ervin Wilkins, great grandma Marjorie Akelund and uncle Willis Akelund. His great grandma Erma Sessions, grandma Doris Sessions and Deanna Adams and children of Vernal also helped make the event special. Debbie Wilkins made and decorated the Big Bird birthday cake. A great number of concerned citizens attended the school discussion meeting at the Junior High Monday evening, March 1. Courses other than year round school were discussed. Mrs. Kelly (Nita) Powell is recuperating at home after having had major surgery at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Among visitors she had while in the hospital was her daughter, Shelly, from Rexburg, Idaho. Shelly is attending Ricks College. Mr. and Mrs. Lyn Morrill made a business trip to Salt Lake City. While there they visited Nita Powell in the hospital. The farewell party for the Stanley Allen family was well attended Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Bishop Morrill gave opening remarks, welcoming the Aliens back for this special evening. Drew Christiansen, former counselor of Bishop Allen, gave the invocation. A clever skit was presented with the three Allen boys, David. Doug and Daniel, assisting. Then with no previous practice, the ladies who sang with LuAnna on special occasions when she lived here, were asked to again sing with her. Rita Ruppe, Addie Snow, Mary Anne Snow and Sylvia Slaugh. accompanied by Gail Tolley, rendered "The Bridge Builders." Kathy Snow, the sixth member of the original group, was absent. The ward then presented the Aliens with a beautiful hand quilted guilt with a large etched picture of the Jensen Chapel in the center. Bishop Allen gave the closing remarks. Benediction was by Jack Ruppe, a former counselor to Bishop Allen. The evening was enjoyed en-joyed by visiting and enjoying the dainty refreshments. Mrs. Joseph Allen was present. The Stanley Aliens now reside in Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Allison and family of Salt Lake City were overnight guests of the Gawain Snows. They left their two small sons with the Snows to spend a week while Mrs. Allison has surgery. Mrs. Allison and Addie are sisters. The Leo Snows made a business trip to Grand Junction, Colo. Friday. Joe and John Haslem accompanied by Ross Snow traveled to Salt Lake City on Thursday. |
