The greatest farm market In Utak is mining and its allied indutrie. The accompanying two photos are of Joe Burgener of Midway. On the left he is shown ready to begin a clay's work in the United States Smelting Refining and Mining Min-ing company properties in the southeastern south-eastern end of the Park City mining district. At the right he is shown in mining togs coming off shift. Mr. Burgener was raised on a farm in the fertile valley below the mines of the eastern end of the Park City mining region. When conditions are slack in the mining industry, he turns his attention to farm int. Hundreds of miners follow this method of earning a living. Others work on farms during the spring, summer and autumn, and then find employment in mines during the winter. Besides furnishing employment for farmers during the off season, the development of many mining properties has resulted in the development devel-opment of water which has enhanced en-hanced the value of farm.landfl. |
