Show J. Bracken Lee Here In Interest Of Campaign Mayor J. Bracken Lee of Price, candidate for the Republican nomination for governor, carried his campaign to St. George Friday, Fri-day, and during his conferences here with civic and political leaders declared that it was his intention in the event of his election elec-tion to rid Utah of what he described de-scribed as "machine and boss" rule and to reduce the cost of government by not less than 25 per cent. "The best interests of Utahans have been subverted for many years by the ambitions and whims, the resentments and caprices of politicians who operate the governmental govern-mental machine which we undoubtedly un-doubtedly have in Utah", Mr. Lee declared. "Smashing of that machine will mark the end of waste and depredation dep-redation in Utah's government, and with the funds thus retrieved I am convinced, after an exhaustive exhaus-tive and painstaking investigation of various governmental departments, depart-ments, that we can cut Utah's operating expenses not less than one-fourth and return this money to the taxpayers in the form of decreased taxes and increased social security benefits and other (Continued on page four) J. Mayor Lee asserted that if he is elected he will confer with all groups interested in legislation, discuss their problems with them and thereafter recommend to the state legislature such measures as will be productive of the greatest good for the greatest number. |
