A Steven Denby Smuggles a pearl necklace through the port of New York. He is trailed to the Harrington's Harring-ton's home on Long Island "by Deputy Surveyor, Taylor, who forces Miss Ethel Cartwright, by threatening to send her sister to jail to spy on Denby. Den-by. Denby's love for Ethel refuses to let him think the girl is against him. Denby confides in Ethel what he has done and by accident gives the signal which brings in Taylor and his men, and then, things begin to happen.
