Show Obituary. The funeral of Mrs. Katherine Jones occurred on Thursday, Oct. 31, from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Griffin, 2S55 Curtis street. Requiem mass was read in Sacred Heart church. Burial ; was in Mount Calvary cemetery. ceme-tery. Peculiarly sad w'as the death of George tSimpson, the 13-year-old son of G. B. Simpson of 1719 Gilpin street, which occurred on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Christian Brothers' school in Baltimore, Bal-timore, Md. The little fellow was one of the promising pupils of Immaculate Conception school last year, and keen regret Is felt, by his former teachers and companions over his untimely death. John J. Weicher, a prominent citizen of Denver, while on a business trip to New York, was stricken with pneumonia pneu-monia and died at the Westminster hotel ho-tel In that city after a very brief illness ill-ness on Saturday, Oct. 26. Deceased wM 61 years of age, and a native of Germany, but much of his life had been passed in Colorado. The body was brought to Denver to the family home, 590 South Sherman avenue, and the funeral took place from there Saturday morning, Nov. 2, with requiem mass at St. Frances de Sales church on South Sherman and Alameda avenues. Rev. J. J. Donnelly conducted the service, and spoke feelingly of the simple and devout life of the dead man. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. 3ic The remains of Mrs. Bridget Filbern, who died on Wednesday. Oct, 30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. J. Sharp, 1041 South Eighth street, were sent to West Point, Wis., for burial. Mrs. Sharp accompanied the body. Hugh Flood of 847 South Eleventh street died on Friday, Nov. 1, after a short Illness. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon from the home of hla mother, 1351 South Eighth street, and was under the auspices of St. Joseph's commandery, Knights of St. John, of which deceased had been a member. Service was read in St. Leo's church by Rev. Father O'Ryan, and was attended by hundreds of friends. Interment was in Mount Calvary cemetery. Mr. Flood was born and raised In Colorado, and was one of Denver's most enterprising young citizens. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Murray have the deep sympathy of the community in the loss of their beautiful little daughter, daugh-ter, Marie Edith, whose fair young soul winged Us flight on Thursday, Oct. 31. Marie was an unusually bright and interesting child of 10 years, and her death leaves an aching void In the hearts of the parents, who loved her so deeply, and who had already been called upon to give back to God several sev-eral little darlings that had come to brighten their home. The funeral occurred oc-curred Saturday morning from the family residence, 3857 Shoshone street, to St. Patrick's church, where service was conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. P. Carrigan. Interment was in the family lot in Mount Calvary cemetery.-Mr. cemetery.-Mr. Murray is a prominent politician of Denver, and served for many years as county commissioner. |
