Show j OBITUARY. j Owens. James Owens died Wednesday at his residence, 730 East Third South street, from blood poisoning resulting from a stone briuse on his foot in a practice game of football at the Colorado School of Mines at Golden a fe days ago. The bruise was trivial and at the time the young man paid little attention atten-tion to it. Later blood poisoning developed de-veloped and ' he was brought to Salt Lilke. wbere 1k v unrlor tho ram nf several physicians. All efforts to save his life proved futile, for the poison had entered the blood. James Owens was well known in Salt Luke, having lived here the greater great-er pi!.rt of his life. He was educated at All Hallows college, and for the past year has been studying mining engineering. He was the son of Thomas Thom-as Ov.c-rs, treasurer and manager of the Utr.h Fireproofing company. The funeral was held from the residence resi-dence Friday morning at 9:15 o'clock, with solemn requiem mass at St. Mary's cathedral. The burial was in Mt. Calvary. Mr. Owens was a member mem-ber of the local council of the Knights of Columbus, which order attended the funeral in a body. |
