Show . 1 Death of a Noted Convert. Father Anton Josef Le Grand, once Episcopal Bishop of Rome, died at Wichita. Kan., recently, j aged 77 years. He was chaplain of St. Francis hos- j pital in that city. j Father Le Grand was an Episcopalian until about twenty years ago, when he came into the Catholic church. Ho was born and educated in ! France, served in the French army, and was of no- j ble birth. j During the first years Father Le Grand was in America, he held professorships in various colleges in Canada. From Canada he went to Chicago. The first two years he spent in Kansas he was pastor of a church in Clyde; from Clyde he came to St. Francis hospital at Wichita, where he remained as chaplain until his death. |
