Show TELLS OF TRIP THROUGH SPAIN TO KIWANIANS Dr. Merritt Y. Hughes Is Speaker at Springville Spring-ville Club. Dr. Merrit Y. Hughes, professor of English at the University of California, Cali-fornia, entertained the members of tbe Springville Kiwauis club, with a most interesting account of his re-tent re-tent trip through Spain, at the weekly luncheon held at the Third ward" amusement hall, Thursday eveninu J"C 2"- In a very picturesque way he described de-scribed the Spanish cities, with all their beauty, wide streets, grand buildings and elaborate and beautiful beauti-ful parks, as contrasted with the poverty of the country. He stated that Spain has the most beautiful entireties in all the world, the largest larg-est pipe organs and thnt their religions relig-ions rituals are different than any other place. He also spoke of their took of interest in education. Mrs. Pan Keeler, Miss Elaine Cnristeuseu and Miss Ruth Partridge Part-ridge all of Provo gave some very entertaining numbers on the program. pro-gram. They responded to encores a number of times to the great satisfaction satis-faction of the aplauders. The numbers num-bers consisted of vocal duets by Slisa Cnristensen and Mrs. Keeler iceorapanled on tie piano by Miss Partridge; solos by Mrs. Keeler ; monologue and readings by Miss Cnristensen.' Kiwanians S. C. Whittaker and M. E. Crandall, Jr., who were dele-pates dele-pates to the national convention at Denver gave interesting accounts of the convention. Dr. John R. Anderson was master of ceremonies and introduced M. W. Bird as toastmaster of the evening. The attendance prize was presented present-ed to Ralph Snelson. Community singine was led by M. E.
