So when one of those former customers offered to buy the restaurant, recipes and all, and reopen it, Hainsworth was thrilled, and agreed to stay on as a consultant. He also plans to have lunch there most days part of the purchase agreement, he said to greet people without the stress of managing the business.. busi-ness.. "That was one of my demands, de-mands, free food for life," Hainsworth said. "I'm just going go-ing to hang around and talk to people." That's just fine with the new owner, Cameron Tea. "I wouldn't be buying the place without Don being here," he said. Tea and Kevin Baron, of St. George, have purchased the restaurant, which was to have reopened Wednesday with the same menu, the same salsa bar and the same kitchen staff previously employed by Hainsworth Hain-sworth to prepare the Cabo Grill's variety of fresh Mex meals. Hainsworth closed the Cabo Grill in American Fork on July 1 6 because of health problems. he said he fell in love with the Cabo Grill while selling real estate es-tate out of southern Utah. "I found I was in north Utah County four days out of the week selling real estate," Tea said, adding that he was a regular at the restaurant. "This place closed down and I needed a new place to eat lunch." A chance encounter with Hainsworth at a local office of-fice supply store started the wheels turning. Tea said the Cabo Grill was more than a restaurant in his mind, and he felt it deserved to be pre served. "It's about the food and it's about the community," Tea said. "This is more than just a nice place to eat." Tea said the restaurant will look a little different. The last month has been spent opening up the interior of the restaurant. restau-rant. But the food and service will be the same as when Hainsworth was running the business. Servando Trujillo and Martin Rodriguez, who were cooks for Hainsworth, will be returning. So will the other restaurant workers. "Every employee who worked here has quit their former job to come back," Hainsworth said. The business is partnering with Alan Osmond's "One Heart in Strengthening Families" Fami-lies" organization, and will be selling Cabo Grill T-shirts and donating $2 from each shirt to that charity. They also plan to provide a venue for local music groups to perform at the restaurant and pay them for performing. "Local choirs and bands will be invited to come in and play and make money for their ac tivities," Tea said. He also plans to expand delivery service for businesses that order lunch. But his main goal is to maintain main-tain the atmosphere Hainsworth Hain-sworth created during the six years he operated the business, busi-ness, before his doctor told him to slow down or die. "The restaurant's winning combination is the environment environ-ment and the customer service," ser-vice," Tea said. "We welcome families. We want people to congregate here without being hustled out as soon as they are finished eating."
