Show MORONI An excellent Higli School nieeting was held in the Moroni Tabernacle last Sunday evening. The musical part of the pragrain was under the direction of Mr. Taylor. Several violin vio-lin solos were gven by Mr. Taylor with piano acco'mpaniment by Miss Ophelia Monsen. Miss Edna Hardy and Melba Christensen sang several vocal solos, and a reading was given by Miss Conley. Talks were given by Mayor D. O. Larson, Jabez Faux, Jr., member of the High School board and Principal Owen F. Deal. .High school students were urged to take advantage of the opportunity afforded afford-ed them to receive an education. They were assured of a wholesome environment., environ-ment., a true school spirit and a practical course of study. Parents were urged to let their boys and girls take up their high school work at the opening of school. Explanation was made that students may enter school at any time and iwill be kindly received, but it is very much to their advantage to enter at the beginning of the school year. A large crowd were in attendance and thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. Miss Edna Hardy who has been studying music in Salt Lake during the summer has returned home. She will fill the position of fourth grade teacher in the public school during the coming school year. Leander Olsen, a graduate last year from the Moroni High School has gone to Oregon. He will attend the Agricultural College of Oregon, : at Carvallis. Miss Connie Nelson entertained the cl'Ub girls at a theatre party Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Underbill, the druggist drug-gist at Moroni have gone to California. Califor-nia. ' Miss Birdie Conley, the English teacher at the Moroni High School has returned for another year's work. I She and her mother have been spending spend-ing the summer at the coast visiting with relatives in different parts of that state. Miss Ida Nelson of Salt Lake is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Nelson. Moroni Faux will soon leave for Logan. He will attend the Agricultural Agricul-tural College and will enter the department de-partment of Forestry. Miss Devona Jensen and her sister sis-ter Matilda returned from Preston, Nevada. They will attend the high school for the coming year. William Taylor who has just returned re-turned from Chicago will have charge of the music department of the Moroni Moro-ni High School. He. is an advanced pupil on the violin and the prospects are very bright for that department this year. Miss Alice Morrison of the Home Economics department of the Agricultural Agri-cultural College at Logan, is here to have charge of the Domestic Sciencn and Domestic Art in the Moroni High School. Miss Morrison and her mother came from Brigham City on Friday. Mrs. Morrison returned to her home the following day. Miss Hazel Faux has returned from a delightful trip to California. She visited Los Angeles; San Diego, San Francisco and a number of the beaches. She will be home this winter where she has charge of the kindergarten class in the public school. Prof, and Mrs. T. A. Beal were guests at the home of Prof, and Mrs. Owen Beal for a few days. They have just returned from an extended trip to California and Oregon. Prof. Beal will resume his work in the Economic department of the University Univer-sity of Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson have gone to Mona to remain for the winter. Ellis Draper left a few days ago for Castledale where he will teach in the public schools. Prof, and Mrs. Loren Anderson are here from Fairview to remain for the winter. Mr. Anderson will teach in the high school. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson cam from Ephraim Saturday. Mr. Peterson Peter-son is principal of the grade schools. Mr. and Mrs. n. K. Jamison have returned from Salt Lake for the win ter, Mrs. Mj rl Snyder ol the P.. V. V. is here to give I he Art work in the school this winter. The cement sidewalks are now completed, and the people nie making mak-ing good use of llicm. The little son of Mr and Mis. Alma Rlackham was seriously injured hy being run over willi a wagon, but is improving nicely at proscni.
