Show MANY PEOPLE AT CONFERENCE A very interesting and instructive Conference of the North Sanpete Stake was held Saturday and Sunday at the Fairview Ward Chapel. Large crowds of people from each ward in the stake was present and and partook of the spirit of the conference. con-ference. A special feature of the meetings was the music given by the ward choirs. Eleven automobiles were used by the Fountain Green ward to convey the members of their choir to the conference. Bishop . Oldroyd headed the excursion. Mt. Pleasant choir and the Fairview choir also assisted in the singing. Elder Joseph F. Smith, Jr. one of the apostals of the church and Elder Clias. H. Hart, one of the seven presidents pres-idents of Seventy were in attendance at the meetings and spoke to the people. Elder Smith spoke principally princi-pally of the commandments of the Lord and the Word of Wisdom while Elder Hart spoke on the subject of tithing. Pres. A. Merz presided during the conference and he gave a very good report of the condition of the stake. He said that it had improved 5 per cent during the month of August. The Religion Class convention was held Saturday afternoon it showed by the report given by Supt. Arthur 0. Neilson that it w as one of the first stakes in the church in the efficiency of the organization and the results obtained.' Miss Tina Ericksen was the principal princi-pal speaker at this session. Another session of this organization was held Sunday morning. Elder Smith came to Mount Pleasant Pleas-ant and spoke at the evening meeting, meet-ing, a large audience being in attendance. |
