Show COURT PROCEEDINGS The case of the Stale of Utah vs. Boon Monsoii, Angus Rosenberg, Ed. T. lienry who was convicted in the Justice's court of Gunnison City for the illegal sale of intoxicating intoxicat-ing liquor and subsequently cited in- j to the District Court to show cause why the liquor in his possession and seized by the Sheriff of this county should not be forfeited, came on regularly reg-ularly for hearing before (be Court on Tuesday, September 14th. 1015. The defendent made no appearance in court nor was he represented by counsel, the court thereupon found after being fully advised in the premises prem-ises that the said liquor was kept by the said defendant for illegal purposes, pur-poses, and therefore ordered Iho same forfeited and that the Sheriff proceed forthwith to destroy the sumo. linns Peter Hanson "Wcs('p of Manti, Christian Larsen of Chester, and David Sharry and Jacob Diner- stein of Clarion, were all admitted citizens of the United States. The petitions of Mwurice Malamud, Isaac Gorin and Parnet Polly to be admitted admit-ted to citizenship were continued un til the next regular term of the District Dis-trict Court. Julius Shore of Clarion was denied citizenship. The contested liquor case brought against Gunnison City by Marenus Peauregaard was tried in the dis trict court on Friday, September 10. before the Hon. Joseph Ericksen, Judge of the Sixth Judicial District. Attorneys Lewis J.arsen and R. A. McBroom appeared for the Contestant Contest-ant and J. W. Cherry and Dilworth Woolley appeared for the Contestees. Much interest seemingly was manifested mani-fested In the case and when all the evidence was submitted and the case closed the "Court rendered its judgement judge-ment that the election as anuomnced by the Mayor and City Council of Gunnison City is confirmed with costs to follow the judgement. Claud Kelson of Ephraim charged with deserting his wife and minor children was arraigned before the Dis Irict Court Monday, September 13th, and entered a plea of guilty to the charge. The judgement of (he courl was (hat he pay a fine of $!i00.00 and if in default of the payment, of said fine (hat he he imprisoned in (he County Jail at the rale of one day for each dollar of the fine imposed. The said defendant was remanded in-lo in-lo (ho custody of the county sheriff A number of Demurrers were submitted sub-mitted and over-ruled and several probate petitions were disposed or during the week. |
