Show COUNTY TICKET NOMINATED AT REPUBLICAN CONVENTION County Republican convention was held here last Friday at 2 p. ni. in the courthouse. Le Roy H. Cox was temporary chairman and Chauncey Sandberg secretary of the meeting, and, on motion u'nanmously carried" were made permanent chairman and secretary respectively. Commutes on organization, credentials cred-entials and resolutions were appointed, appoint-ed, after which the following candidates candi-dates for office were nominated by acclamation. v to. Com., 4 years, H. W. Gubler. Co. Com., 2 years, F. J. Bowler. Co. Clerk & Treas., A. B. Andnis; C-o. Recorder, Mrs. Georg"3 Lund; Co. Ass. & Sheriff, j. T. Atkin, Jr. Co. Atty., Le Roy H. Cox. Surveyor, Woodruff Cannon, For representation in the state legislature, J. W. Imlay. There were two nominees for the two-year term county commissioner, Harmon Gubler, Jr., of Santa Clara and F. J. Bowler of Gunlock, the former polling 20 votes against 22 cast for Mr. Bowler. There were three nominees for sheriff, Atkin getting 33 votes against 9 for his opponents. op-ponents. The rest of the nominees had no contestants. Twenty delegates were elected to attend the Dist. Senational convention conven-tion at Cedar City the following day, as follows: Jos. T. Atkin, Sr., Samuel Sam-uel Judd, D. C. Watson, W. H. Slack, Claud Hirschi, Jos. W. Prince, Harmon Har-mon Gubler, Jr, H. T. Atkin, David Hirschi, Warren Cox, Elmer Taylor, John R. Wallis, J. W. Imlay, A. J. Isom, Chauncey Sandberg, Le Roy Cox, Paul Gates, Martin Anderson, Harvey Hall and C. D. Alsop. The following platform was unanimously un-animously adopted. |
