Cub Scouts Hike In Phipps Canyon ESCALANTE -Fourteen cub scouts from Pack 3676 in Escalante hiked through the JPhipp ;'' Guide fp-he proximately two and one, half mile hike was Edson Alvey, well known for his knowledge of the area. The youngsters were accompanied also by den mothers Carol Simons and Sandra Cooper and den father Ray Christian along with cub scout committee chairman, Cal Porter. The enthusiastic cub scout hikers enjoyed the opportunity to see Phipps 'and Maverick natural arches and an ancient .'Moqui storage area. ,s Each hiker received a ' patch commemorating the 75th year of Boy .Scouting.
