Show V WOMEN'S CIVIC CLUB NOTES 40TH BIRTHDAY The 40th birthday anniversary of the Bingham Women's Civic Club was celebrated with a dinner and special program held at the Civic Center Wednesday evening, Feb. 10, 7:30 p.m. Honored guests were past presidents of the club. Seated at a V-shaped table beautifully decorated de-corated in the red and white Valentine Valen-tine motif were 56 members and guests. Cahirman of the preparations prepara-tions for this outstanding event was Mrs. Jack Householder Jr., assisted by Mrs. Verio Kendrick, Mrs. Dean Lipsey, Mrs. Hosmer Peterson and Mrs. Phillip Sa nderson. The dinner din-ner was prepared by the Woman's Society of Christian Service of Copperton Cop-perton in charge of Mrs. Dan Groves Grov-es and served by four Bingham High School Minerettes Nancy Crellin, Linda Long, Pearl Milner and Linda Smernoff. Prayer was given by Mrs. Richard G. Steele. Mrs. Richard C. Stevenson, president pre-sident of the club, welcomed members mem-bers and guests and introduced the past presidents attending were Mrs. Eugene Morris, Mrs. S. J. Cranquist, Mrs. Harley English, Mrs. J. Lynn Booth, Mrs. Carl A. Curtis, Mrs. Elmo A. Nelson, Mrs. Glenn Huebner and Mrs. Steele. The birthday theme was carried out by a pretty 3-tiered birthday cake on a Happy Birthday musical tray centered on a table covered with a lovely lace cloth. The cake was made by Mrs. Hosmer Peterson. Peter-son. Also on the table were the two draw prizes in gay red and white wrappings. Little red birthday candles, lighted, on the individual desserts of ice cream and cookies added to the festive decorations. Table centerpiece was a bouquet of red roses in a white bowl. Favors were lovely vari-colored plastifoam corsages, the handiwork of Mrs. Lipsey and Mrs. Sanderson. Favors for the Minerettes were red heart-shaped heart-shaped organdy aprons. Draw prizes priz-es were the birthday cake, the rose centerpiece and two silk scarfs-won scarfs-won by Mrs. Myron Fullmer, Mrs. James Xanthos. Mrs. John Dahl-strom Dahl-strom and Mrs. W. E. Cranquist. Program feature of the evening following the dinner was the showing show-ing of colored moving pictures of Galena Days parades and scenes in Bingham Canyon dating back to 1939. The pictures were obtained from the Bingham Branch library and shown by Hosmer Peterson. |
