Show HOLY ROSARY CHURCH by Connie Mochizuki Plans Underway For Carnival A general meeting was held last Sunday evening at Immaculate Conception Con-ception rectory, of all parish organization or-ganization presidents and representatives, represen-tatives, to d. scuss plans for a spring carnival to be held in April. Present Pres-ent were: Fr. John J. Sullivan, John J. Creedon, Ross Pino, Tom Gonzales, Gon-zales, Jesus Aviila, Mis. John Anderson, And-erson, Mrs. Mark Muhar, Mrs. Ralph Murano, Mrs. Anita Bena-vir.!ez, Bena-vir.!ez, Mrs. Joe Cruz, Mrs. Kenneth Moore, Mrs. Boyd Anderson and Miss Connie Mochizuki. Chosen again to serve as general chairman Ca Ross Pino with John J. Creedon, co-chairman. Mr. Pino told the committee that all out effort ef-fort will be made to make this carnival car-nival an outstanding success. It was explained that the carnival is the principal source of yearly income with which Fr. Sullivan is able to (Continued on page four) Monthly Entertainment The monthly entertainment sponsored spon-sored by Holy Rosary Men's Organization Organ-ization will be held on St. Valentine's Valen-tine's day this Sunday, Feb. 14th, at 6:00 p.m. at B.C.O. Hall in Bingham. Bing-ham. Fr. Sullivan stressed in the parish bulletin that no one will be allowed in the building without a card. Holy Rosary Altar Society will be in charge of refreshments. According to the chairmen, the Civic Center will again be filled with a dozen or so gaily decorated booths featuring entertainment for youngsters 6 to 60. A variety of excellent prizes have been selected by the committee. Among the attractive at-tractive items to be given away will be a slender I 7 portable TV, 30.06 Winchester deer rifle, complets Poloroid Land camera outfit, electric elec-tric drill, automatic reel and deluxe de-luxe tackle box, gift certificate for bowling ball, shoes and bag, toaster and a portable mixer. The' dates chosen for the carnival are Saturday, Satur-day, April 23 and Sunday, April 24. An extensive program has been arranged for the two-day affair with a social hour and dancing to be featured on Saturday evening and a games party to climax festivities festivi-ties for Sunday evening. It was stressed that all parish organizations assume various duties and responsibilities respon-sibilities with appointment of chairmen chair-men for the various concessions to which they were assigned. Named to be in charge of booths are co-chairmen, Blaine Milner and Mark Muhar, advertising and publicity pub-licity will be handled by Joe Sua-aeta, Sua-aeta, and electrical work by Eddie Osoro and Sergio Garcia. Social will be under the capable direction of Hugo Bianchi. Ticket sales will be handled by the carnival co-chairmen. They announced that a ticket committee will be formed with appointment ap-pointment of team captains to oversee over-see the sale and diistribution of tickets to parishioners. All appointed appoint-ed team captains will be contacted this week and are asked to attend a very important meeting at the parish hall Monday, Feb. 22nd at 7:00 p.m. New Postulant Among the new postulants at the Convent of the Sisters of the Hily Names of Jesus and Mary, Maryl-hurst, Maryl-hurst, Oregon, was Miss Rose Mary Arritola daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Arritola of Copperton. Rose Mary made her profession of temporary tem-porary vows with reception of the Holy Habit and Holy name of Sister Rose Miriam. St. Paschal't Altar Society Meets Wednesday, Feb. 17 There will be a meeting of St. Paschal't Altar Society Wednesday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the church hall. All members are asked to attend. Immaculate Conception Altar Society To Meet Thursday Immaculate Conception Altar Society So-ciety will hold their monthly meeting meet-ing Thursday, Feb. 1 8th in the church basement. Members are urged urg-ed to be present at this meeting to discuss plans for the carnival. |
