Show OIL TRACK MEET TO BE HELD Of IE - SCHOOLS 9 1 Coach Lon Romney of the Ogden high school Is negotiating with the other schools in the northern high school division for a duaLtrack meet to be held In this city7 within the next two weeks. The meet will be for the purpose of qualifying for entry en-try In the state meet which, will be held in Salt Lake City on May 8. It is probable that the preliminary meet to be held in this city will be participated in by athletes from the Morgan, Coalville, Boxelder and Ogden Og-den high schools, with the Weber academy as another possible entrant The eligibility committee for the state meet has set a minimum time and distance mark, which all entrants must make. This Is for the purpose of cutting out all mediocre athletes Rnd, if the winner of an event in the division tournaments should fail to come within the minimum time or distance, he will not be eligible for the state tournament. Coach Romney states that, although the Orange and Black athletes have never had steady and consistent training in track athletics, that they are showing up well at the present time and that several have already made records in practice, which would qualify them for the state tournament Captain Perkins, who took second place in the high Jump last year, and Fuller, who took second in the pole vault, are doing good work In practice prac-tice for those events. Tribe Is working work-ing again on the half mile and Brown, a New York youth, Is trying out for the half-mile and mllo. Hibbs, Hey-wood, Hey-wood, Fuller, Greenwood and Per klnB are working out for the sprints and Fuller is also after the hurdles and broad jump records.
