Show From Grand Canyon. The Misses Ethel and Mabel Jarvis have returned from a visit to the ' Grand Canyon. They went with ' Ranger Alex Macfarlano as guide and wero joined by Lylo nnd Verda Stout of Hurricane, going a goodly part of ( the journey horse-back. Tho part of i tho canyon visited was that included in the Mount Trombull and Parash-aunt Parash-aunt division of tho Dixie Forest. Hero the sheer descent to the river la 3000 feet, and down this tho ladies mudo their way, the girls of tho party J being tho first ladies to get to the river at this point; there i3 no trail and thoy had to find a way down tho steep canyon side. The ladies bathed in the river and enjoyed tho novel experience of being the firgt white women to do so at this point of the river. Miss Ether Jarvis says tho scenery about this part of the Grand Canyon is undescribably grand nnd beautiful, so much so that oven an attempt to describo it is foredoomed to failure. Sho took a number of camera snapshots of the scenery which hho Intends having developed, Tho purty thoroughly enjoyed tho outing. Washington County News. |
