An important convention of county oflicinls of Beaver, Iron, nnd Garfield counties has boon called to meet at Pnrowan Tuesday, .October 12th, at 10 a. m. at the court house. Members of the State Board of Equalization nnd representatives from the State Auditor's ofllce will be present, and problems confronting the stato and county oflicinls in the application of the revenue laws enacted by the last legislature will be discussed. Her sister Bell has taken her place in the telephone tele-phone office. Mrs. Mary I. Tanner of Salt Lake City was a guest of the Ladies' Club at the home of Mrs. Wm. Pritchard last Friday afternoon. m Alvin Decker hns been confined to his bed for the past week with an acute attack of appendicitis, but at this writing he is improving. Dr. Burton reports the following ., births for the past week: At the Z home of L. J. Adams, a boy; of Hcber C. Rowley, a boy; of Wm. Hurst, a boy. Mrs. C. L. Richards and little ones have returned to their home in Logan. They were accompanied by Mrs. Alice Ollerton, who will spend tho winter with them at that place. The city council in convention last Tuesday evening voted an appropriation appropria-tion of $185 for the purchase of band instruments for the promotion of an , A-No.l band in our citty, Lawrence Mortcnsen has sufficiently sufficient-ly recovered from a siege of typhoid fever to be able to take a trip to Cir-clovillc, Cir-clovillc, where he will visit with relatives rela-tives for a short time. Miss Emma Cochran left for St. George a few days ago, after a visit of several weeks with relatives hero. Mrs. Cochran's parents are coming from Salt Lake to spend the winter in St. George. ,,, Hon.
