Show THE BUSINESS OUTLOOK. NOTWITHSTANDING there is a derth of cash in southern Utah, as elsewhere all over the Western country, it is not to be denied that the outlook is good for this section of the country in a business way. Sheep are our principal prin-cipal dependance to bring money into tho country, coun-try, and the fact that lambs are bringing a higher price this fall than for many years is a matter of congratulation and is certain to have a beneficial ettect upon business generally. At the prices sold for many of the sheep men have received as high as $4 per head for their, last spring's lambs. In years gone by from $2 to $2.75 was considered a satisfactory figure. In addition to this the corn and hog industry will help local conditions quite a little this season. Crops have been fair, notwithstanding not-withstanding unfavorable conditions in certain localities, lo-calities, and there is about an average amount of building and other industrial work being done. The attendance at practically all the high schools of the south is reported better than usual, and taking all things together, even with tax time staring us in the face, we feel that we have reason for congratulation. There are a great many places on the Pacific slope where conditions are not nearly near-ly so satisfactory as they are here, and it all goes to show that southern Utah and particularly Iron county is a mighty good place to pitch your tent! m |
