M Steele Gillespie Gillespie Gil- Gil lespie former ManU Manta resident died Sept 24 1972 in Belleville Belleville Belleville Belle Belle- ville Ill Mrs Gillespie was born bom March 16 1881 in Belleville Ill to Louisa Reese and Eberhard Eberhard Eberhard Eber- Eber hard Buettner She was a convert convert convert con con- vert to the Church through the efforts of ot Jesse P. P Steele who had gone back to Illinois to collect records of ot his Ms rela rela- tives She came to Utah in 1908 and she and Mr Steele were married in the ManU Mantl Temple Temple Tem Tem- Oct 14 1908 They purchased purchased purchased pur pur- chased their home the next year at 87 West Second North in Mantl Manti Mr Steele passed away June 10 1920 at the age of 91 The first five years Mrs Gellespie worked in the ManU Mantl Temple with her husband She was Has always active in the Church especially the Relief Society where she served many years as a visiting teacher In 1930 she and her daughter moved to California On May 1 1947 she was married marrIed married mar mar- ried to William WIlHam A. A Gillespie Inthe in inthe inthe the Mesa Temple He Repass- Repass passed passed pass pass- ed away May 12 1951 She lived in Riverside California California California Cal Cal- until two years ago when she moved to Romoland Homeland to be near her daughter In April of ot this year she flew to Illinois to visit her two remaining re remaining remaining re- re sisters She is survived by a daughter Jessie Buettner Steele a stepson stepson stepson step step- son Floyd Gillispie two sisters sisters sisters sis sis- Mrs Mathilda Meyer and Mrs Anna Voss of Belleville and a brother John Buettner Romoland Homeland California |
