Show Coronation Ceremony Arrangements Made For Miss Iron County Miss Iron County for 1958 will be named Friday evening at the annual coronation ball to be staged at the College of Southern South-ern Utah fieldhouse beginning at 9 p. m. The evening will feature dancing danc-ing to the music of the Rhythm Makers orchestra plus a program and Judging with the queen to be named during the evening. Vying for the coveted title are six lovely young ladies representing represent-ing communities of the county. Representing CtJar City will be Miss Clyda Porter, 17-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gran-don Gran-don Porter. She was selected in a city-wide contest last Friday evening. Other representatives include Miss Rose Ann Moyle, 17, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyle, as Miss Escalante Valley. From Parowan will be 18-year-old Norma Lee Mercer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mercer, selected at finals held late Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Miss Paragonah will be Helen Jean Dalton, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dalton. Cora Lee Gibson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Gibson will vie for the title as Miss Enoch and Miss Kanarraville will be Norma Reeves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Reeves of that community. Miss Iron County and her attendants at-tendants will reign over all of the activities of the Iron County Fair and in addition will represent repre-sent the county in the Utah Dairy Queen contest held in connection with the Utah State Fair. The queen will also receive a scholarship scholar-ship to the College of Southern Utah, according to Mitchell Lunt, In charge of the contest. Dancing will begin at 9 Friday evening and Judging will get UTIT der way at 10 p. m. Each of the communities of the county will also present a talent number during dur-ing the evening, Lunt Indicated. |
